A dust grinder or herb grinder can be a mans or womans best friend, or worst enemy depending on how well it works. Some grinders perform with a level of mediocrity, whilst others are little gems that become a treasured possession. It all depends on what kind of grinder you buy. Plastic, acrylic, metal, wood. They all have their pros and cons. We've discussed it below purely for your benefit!
At Pass the Dutchie we stock a range of grinders made from different materials to ensure that every single user finds a grinder that makes them grin. And for those who don’t know what the function of a grinder is (don’t be embarrassed, we’re all here to learn) it is a circular shaped, often magnetised item consisting of a minumum of two separate parts. The chamber inside has sharp teeth, so when you place some of your favourite herb in there , clamp the two parts together and give a good twist, the herb goes from chunky and bushy to a lovely dusty consistency, that is perfect to use in any way you see fit.
Acrylic grinders are affordable, colourful , tough and durable. They have sharp teeth, ideal for grinding up your ‘erb real nice! They even come emblazoned with silly or iconic images such as the 80’s smiley face, Che Guevara or the traditional cannabis leaf. For us lazy lot, buy yourself an electric herb grinder!
Metal grinders are usually of a more premium quality and have shark like teeth to tear up any herb you put its way. Decorated with an array of images to suit all tastes, some gothic in nature, others pure hippy all the way. Some innovative designs have been constructed using metal, like the clear rotary grinder, allowing you to use a lever to grind your herb and the clear lid to watch it happen. Crystal Twist grinder by Red-Eye is constructed using adonised aluminium and can either be used as a crystal pollenator or just a damn good grinder! The Metal bullet grinder is seriously cool, and will earn you some major lad points with your mates, as will the camouflaged grenade grinder.
